Ascendis reports a 43 increase in turnover for 2008, to EUR 4.3 million | Business Reviwe | 02.05.09


Romanian training and consultancy company Ascendis posted a turnover increased by 43 percent in 2008 compared with 2007, to reach EUR 4.3 million, following to the investments in personnel in areas like pharmaceutics, finances, energy and communications, according to the company. The company targeted a turnover of around EUR 4 million last year. For 2009, the training market is still expected to grow this year, against the economic drift, if the Labor Ministry launches aid programs for companies' personnel as soon as possible, according to the company's expectations. Ascendis' general director Andrei Gosu declared that the European Union allotted almost EUR 270 million for two projects aiming to help companies train their employees between 2007 and 2009. For the 2007-2013 interval, the figures amount to EUR 940 million. Ascendis estimates the Romanian training market was worth last year about EUR 40 million. This year is expected to bring a growth anywhere between 10 percent and 100 percent, depending on when and to what measure the European funds are used.
